Staker Parson Materials & Construction is donating a narrow strip of land to Utah County in order to increase public safety by establishing a trail connection. The trail will connect and continue the rail trail from Draper/Salt Lake County into Lehi/Utah County. The land sits near a Staker Parson Materials & Construction’s ready-mix plant in Lehi, Utah at the point of the mountain. The land donation is expected to be completed within 30 days and construction will begin in the coming months.
Utah County approached Staker Parson Materials & Construction about the Right-of-Way purchase, and the company agreed to donate the land. The trail will establish a critical cyclist and walking path connection for commuters.
“I interact with motor vehicles on a daily basis as a year-round bicycle commuter from Sugar House to Draper, and the fact that my employer donated land to build a future separated bike pathway to keep cyclists and pedestrians safe and out of harm’s way is meaningful to me,” Scott Barrett, Staker Parson Materials & Construction Credit Manager said.
